How does payroll work in Italy?
In Italy, it is common to provide a “13th Month” bonus equal to one month’s salary. Subject to performance and applicable CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement), a “14th Month” is also provided to employees.
How many hours is a working week?
A full-time working week in Italy is 40 hours. Employers can request a maximum of 8 hours’ overtime in a week, in line with the EU Working Time Directive. Overtime must incur an increase in salary with specific rates found in the applicable CBA.
What about dismissing an employee?
